Prosper is a fast-growing town of 30,174 people (2020 census) that spans western Collin County and eastern Denton County, just north of Frisco. Settlers began farming cotton here in 1846. When the railroad arrived in 1902, the nearby communities of Rock Hill and Richland merged, and residents chose the name Prosper because that year's crops had been so prosperous. The town incorporated in 1914. Today Prosper is known for its large master-planned communities, newer luxury homes and Prosper ISD schools.
About 420 homes are listed with Prosper addresses, from about $190,000 to $5.75 million. The average list price is about $987,000, for roughly 3,700 square feet at about $261 per square foot. For single-family homes, about 98 are priced under $700,000, about 145 are between $700,000 and $1 million, and about 168 are over $1 million. About 101 are new construction.
