Argyle is a small town of about 4,400 people (2020 census) in southwest Denton County, between Denton and Fort Worth along I-35W and US 377. Founded as a railroad stop in 1881, it is known for its rural charm, acreage and horse properties, and its A-rated school district. The Argyle mailing address also covers fast-growing master-planned communities just outside the town limits, so "Argyle" means everything from country estates to brand-new neighborhoods.
About 210 homes are listed with Argyle addresses, from about $340,000 to $8 million. The overall average list price is about $970,000, pulled up by acreage estates; for homes under $1.5 million, the average is about $690,000, for roughly 2,950 square feet. Live MLS data as of October 10, 2026; see the Argyle market report for current numbers.
Argyle ISD serves the town and much of the surrounding area and received an A rating from the Texas Education Agency for 2024-2025. It's one of the main reasons buyers choose Argyle. But an Argyle address doesn't always mean Argyle schools:
Always confirm the district for a specific address; we'll check it for you. Liberty Christian School, a private PK-12 school, is also in Argyle.
Argyle keeps a small-town, country feel, with horse properties, open land and community events. Master-planned communities like Harvest, Lantana and Canyon Falls add their own pools, trails, parks and events, and Grapevine Lake, Lewisville Lake, Denton's Square and the shopping in Flower Mound and Highland Village are all a short drive away.
I-35W and US 377 run north-south through the Argyle area, with FM 407 connecting east to Flower Mound, Highland Village and I-35E. Denton is minutes north and Fort Worth is a straight shot south on I-35W.
For buyers who want highly rated schools, room to spread out, and a small-town feel with quick access to I-35W, yes. You can choose anything from acreage and horse property to a new master-planned community.
Not always. The town and much of the area are in Argyle ISD, which earned an A rating from the Texas Education Agency for 2024-2025. But Lantana, Country Lakes, Sagebrook and parts of Canyon Falls are served by Denton ISD, and Avalon at Argyle plus parts of Harvest and Canyon Falls are served by Northwest ISD.
As of October 2026, homes under $1.5 million average about $690,000. Including acreage estates, the overall average list price is about $970,000.
Yes. Harvest, Canyon Falls, Furst Ranch and Sagebrook all have new homes being built.
